Very nice collections, and a fun "theme" - not just the 50 but also the name of the denomination ... Christian

I realized the collection was not complete so I added another Guinea-Bissau: 100 Centavos = 1 Escudos (1933-1973) Guinea-Bissau 1952 KM# 8 Mintage 10,000,000 19.8 mm Bronze One Year Type Portuguese Colony
This is the first "50 Centavos" coin from Mexico, it was from de Maximilian Mexican Emperor's era 1864-1867; by the way Maximilian of Hasburg was the little brother of Franz Joseph Emperor of Austria, Maximilian lived in the Chapultepec Castle in Mexico City, which is the only royal castle in the American Continent.
Interesting coin! When I visited Mexico, we had plans to see the museum at the castle (mostly because of the coin collection) but then were too exhausted after doing the Anthropology Museum. As for being the only royal castle, guess that applies to North America. In South America you could add the royal/imperial palaces in Rio de Janeiro ... Christian
As you can see chrisild, there are differences between a castle and a palace: Fortress: Primarily military. Very few civic or administrative functions if any. Palace. Primarily civilian. It has several administrative functions, as well as often being a residence of someone of high status. Defence is a law priority if it is considered at all. Castle: A mix between a fortress and a palace. It can be 95/5, 50/50, 20/80 etc. depending on the situation, time and place. The Palace of Sao Cristovao in Rio de Janeiro where Peter II lived is totally different in functions to the Castle of Chapultepec where Maximilian lived for a little period of time.
I didn't see these 2 posted so I decided to upload. Sorry for the protective film, it takes away from the coin
Played around with this collection and made a digital album for it. I decided to show the reverse with medal alignment instead of coin alignment because it appealed to me not to have to look at the reverse upside down. Not correct, but it's my album so I guess I can do it like I want. Right? Anyway it was fun doing. I don't like the "new" issuu format but it's their site so I guess they can do what they want. Besides they do it for free, I can't complain. Anyway here it is. best viewed in full screen mode. https://issuu.com/mikelarson2
