    Yes, and the 1 Reichsmark is one of the tougher ones to find in nice shape. The 2 RMk and 5 RMk are relatively easier because so many were stashed away.

    In the early years of the nazi regime, the government did apparently not want to put its own symbols on coins. (With the exception of the tiny swastikas on the Potsdam Garrison Church pieces.) So the eagle with the swastika did not show up until 1936. Now the 1 RM coin was first issued in 1933, the first year of the nazi regime - maybe they did not want to replace it again after three or four years.

    Yup, that era of the 30's kept Krause and Mishler busy when assigning KM numbers to German coins. By contrast, the early Federal Republic coins (1950 onward) were almost as stable as Swiss coinage.
