I counted the number sold on July 2 (chose the date at random) and 120 were sold on that one day, that is 840 a week (probably more on the week when the coins were released). The flippers will run low on coins to sell eventually on these. I bet 10% of the total mintage has been sold JUST ON EBAY already. BTW they are selling about 3:1 proof to unc.
I don't think the mint has shipped many of the uncirculated spouse coins yet so that may be why the proof are selling in such higher numbers. I saw last night on HSN they were selling these for $1299 each and so there are many still paying high prices, if only the mint would hurry up and ship the orders out we all have.
I watched coin valut the other day just for some strange reason. They had the martha and abbie NGC certified proof gold coins for $1999.xx and the 69 for I believe for something like $1399.xx. Looks like they sold them out. Coins Country another one of those shows had the same coins for about $400 less. Anyhow looks like the coin valut dude sold his few out as about as fast as the mint did. It is still hard for me to believe and a little scarry that these shows do have the means to exert a big infulence on the price of certain coins on the market. At the prices some of the spouce gold coins have closed at on Ebay recently, these entertainers could afford to buy these coins (not that they are) and flip them at what they are selling them for. Oh the power of tv and a good snake oil salemman .
I always figured those coins shows claim sellouts even if they haven't just for hype. Then the next show they magically have more.
