I've searched VAM World for over an hour, looking at them over and over again. Can't find one with a clash in LIBERTY like mine. (But maybe I'm an idiot and it isn't a clash)? @Cascade and others, please help!
I don't see a clash. Probably the most well-known clash involving LIBERTY is the clashed "E" which would show on the reverse between the tail feathers and the wreath. Not seeing that, I don't think there is any clash that would show on the obverse. Chris
Not quite sure what I'm looking at there, yet. Have to assume PMD of some sort until more cogitation happens. Thing is, any indentations in the space between IB and inside the B itself have to be something added to the die, since the die is a negative there. A clash can identify a subvariety, but not normally an assigned VAM itself since it's just a die state. So it may not even be on record for whichever VAM this is.
Yeah, those areas would be raised on the coin. So, my first thought would be PMD of some sort, too. Chris
Just speculating here, but could it be where the rim of another Morgan landed on this coin? Now that I say that and look again... I think that's what it may be!?
