Dolphins can be scary when they are not on a coin......

The double dolphin Taras is pretty cool! Notice how cheerful the free one at the bottom is, compared to the grumpy enslaved large dolphin, forced to carry some hero who's too drunk to swim on his own.

Here's an interesting dolphin coin of Issa, an island off of Illyricum:

I don't think it matters how many times you show a coin as beautiful as that, one of the nicest Greek coins I have ever seen.

Dolphin thread, yay! One of these days I'll find the right Tarentum nomos. The right one at the right time at the right price has proven tricky so far. Perhaps the problem is that I'm looking for one coin when in reality I'll need to buy several of the type :D

LUCANIA, Velia. AR didrachm. One of my first individually purchased ancient coins.

SICILY, Syracuse. Agathokles tetradrachm. My favorite coin.

Looks like I have no Roman dolphins but a few are on "the list".

Oh please, I live in Miami. The Dolphins are the sorriest and most frustrating team to watch. I gave up on season tickets because I got sick of the empty promises of greatness each season, only to be followed by loss after loss.

My sanity is already fragile thanks to the terrible Miami Marlins, so the Dolphins had to go.

I didn't say they were any good, but I still wouldn't relish the idea of 1,000+ lbs. of meat running straight for me.

My dolphin is so fat, he looks like a pregnant doe.

My dolphin is so fat, swimmers swim around him for exercise.
