Is there a certain degree of rotatio that qualifies as "medallic alignment" to grading services? I've seen the designation on labels, but I was wondering if it has to be 180 exactly, or does something between 170 and 190 qualify? Also, is it CW or CCW that the degrees are measured in? I've got a ~165 deg. clockwise Adams $. To the eyeball, it's pretty close.. but 15 degrees seems like I'm pushing wishful thinking.
You need 180 degrees rotation for a coin to be designated "medallic alignment" or "medal alignment". I suppose a few degrees deviation either side of that would also be acceptable, but not 10 degrees. A 180 degree rotated die error is neither clockwise nor counterclockwise. There's no way to tell in which direction the die rotated.
