Yesterday I went to RRVCC Coin Club Winter Show in Fargo. It was a last minute decision as I wasn't sure if we would have early morning fog like we had all week and it was almost a three hour drive. Got there at 11 am stayed just under an hour and a half as I had to drive back to get to a get together with friends at 5 pm. Cliff Mischler was there I believe, I met him at the same shoe several years ago. Below is my loot all of which I bought from a Billings MT and a St Paul MN dealer. This is a token in memory of Glen Jorde who passed away last July. Glen was a dealer from Devils Lake ND. His coin shop partner was giving them out. RIP. Glen. He often came to our show in Aberdeen and I had bought coins from him in the past.
Nice haul, @Rushmore ! I thought about going up there but decided I’ll save my budget for the Brooklyn Center show in March instead. I had read of Glen’s passing on the clubs website. I had some good conversations with him through the years.
Yeah Glen was great. Treated me well. Show was pretty busy when I was there. Every table had at least one person looking or buying.
Thanks for sharing, @Rushmore. You collect my kind of stuff. Happy you got the token for Glen Jorde. I have several of his advertising pieces. I probably bought tokens from him at a dozen shows and probably had only a nice long chat at a dozen more. I think I last talked to him at Central States in Chicago last year. He is missed.
