Maybe just a later die stage?

Good pictures. I wish I knew about die stages.

Any opinions on the grade? Maybe a 64+
The coin certainly has the luster of a gem.

Luster does not make a 64, scratches, bag marks, and dings don't either. Nice coin but I would be reluctant simply by eye appeal. Good luck.

I am confused by you statement.
Bag marks and dings are a part of a grade depending on the severity and amount. Brilliance and quality of the luster definitely separates a 64 from a Gem. And also gem to premium gem.

You are absolutely right @Picken and Grinin. My point is that each of us have our own excellence to eye appeal. Thank you for the input.

LOL!! I wish I could just identify the end result.:p Awesome pick! When did you snatch this one up? Love the Morgans and their varieties! Soon, soon, I'll be sending a batch to ANACS for grading and attribution, and what is already slabbed, to Messy Desk's company.

Gee, I was just told no bag marks or dings means a coin was wiped. This place is a barrel of laughs. :D

A little while back, It's my first GSA after all my years of collecting. The dealer gave me a deal, knocked about $50 off the normal price. So, I felt that I couldn't go wrong with the box and COA.

If you don't like the first grade, just keep sending it back for new submission. Eventually you'll get the right grade. :D And I love this coin. Jelly!

Nah, Maybe years from now when they are getting passed on. I don't play the grading game. Maybe if I was a dealer.

Good idea. Wait for the newer guys who might be lazier, more forgiving and more more DEI inclusive. At the rate we're going, looks MS70 to me. ;)

I'll take your word for it. I'm just learning, but I can spot a VAM in a heartbeat, just can't name what the heck it is.
