Looking for the latest info on the newest American Dollar, the gold George Washingtons. Specifically, whats the hype on the misprints. (i.e.; no e pluribus unum or no date stamps). Thanks, Gene
It's not made of gold, but brass. Anyway, there are a couple (of thousand) with missing edge inscriptions and a few with double struck edge inscriptions. Think $90 for the first and $900 for the second.
Gold I meant "gold looking" George Dollars... :headbang: thanks for the info. This is what I heard (and likewise wanted to get something a little more concrete on the matter), "About 50K were struck in this fashion and the asking price is already upto $300.00 USD". I have about 18 so far. Banks are wonderful at times.
Hi, Gene. The golden dollars (both Presidential, and Sacagawea), are composed of a solid copper core, sandwiched between thin manganese-brass layers. If you're interested, you can check out the links below... http://www.washingtondollarerrors.com/ http://home.earthlink.net/~smalldollars/dollar.html
