Nice Protesilaos & eye coin, Z-bro ... I always think that baby is super unique and sweet Are you and I the only two dudes on this site with a Protesilaos example? (cool club ... we need to get secret-rings)
Yah, well I've always been a huge fan of the underdogs (the early bird catches the wound ... pretty sure that's a saying?)
LOVE the OP Steve-----that reverse is just fantastic and I can so easily overlook the 'rough' crystallization.....of which I have a few. I'll add this Tet from Byzantion, Thrace with the Demeter and Poseidon combo, circa 240-200 BC---26 mm and 12.43 grams. I think Poseidon was saying... "OK guys, you go first I'll sit here and supervise and 'mop' up later" Since I purchased this coin, I haven't yet run across another....presumably a bit more scarce than I realized.
Thanks, Jwt => $160 versus $60 (I'm glad that you think it was money well spent) ... again, I thought that both of yesterday's scores were fairly thrifty/reasonable
I came late to this party, but here's my soldier going into battle - The Lesser Ajax, hero of Lokris, who participated in the Trojan War: nude with cool helmet, short sword, shield with image of snake inside it, broken spear point between his feet.
That's an absolutely stunning coin!! Just gorgeous in every way!! Congrats @ancientnut...But now I'm super jealous!!
Wow, a-nut => that's an amazingly beautiful example (I love it!!) ... man, it would look very nice nestled beside my OP-coin, eh? X-mas is quickly approaching (I'm just sayin')
