From Cascade's reply #106 Which doesn't explain why the USMint coin listing still says "Mintage Limit: None"
Because it always says "none" for mintage limit, no matter the product Maybe congrssionally authorized product show a mintage limit now that I think about it but I can't remember ever seeing anything other than "none"
Here's the info on the Gold Merc from the mint Item Number: 16XB Mintage Limit: 125,000 Product Limit: None Household Order Limit: 10
Oh yeah. I guess they do it on purpose to keep people on their toes then as that issue wasn't a conressional approved one. Who knows
Got shipping notification for all 12 of mine today. Yup, 12. Sorry to those that hate that type of thing. I also bought 8 more at about $100 each on ebay. Hoping to keep a couple of each mint mark, and flip the rest. Saweet!
You don't have a clue. There is NO SOUR GRAPES MENTALITY here. I didn't want any of these so how could it be a sour grape mentality? Your buddy Witten got 12 of them, is that fair to other collectors that couldn't get in? Answer that question either yes or no. Which one is it?
You're not sorry at all, you would have gotten more if you could have. Well, let me take that back, you are sorry. Reminds me of an old saying, all pigs die at the trough.
I should have said them. One was never the limit nor should it have been. They are a beautiful design but part of why people wanted them is the low mintage. We have seen this a million times across various series from the mint. 2011 ASE set 100k mintage everyone wants one, 2014 set mint to demand people couldn't care less. First RP pres dollar everyone wants it, Kennedy RP 75k mintage or whatever it was that was way above the rest and now it sells for the issue price basically. It's the same trend every-time mintage to high no one wants it, low mintage everyone wants it.
Fair? Is life fair? We all try to live by a decent moral code, well most, but if you go around crying about fairness you'll get eaten by a bigger dog. Its as simple as that. Did @jwitten kill, maim or steal from someone to get those 12? Did he smack a baby or eat a bald eagle? See where I'm going here. Nothing he did was illegal and life isn't fair in general so if you cry about fairness you've already lost.
Plus I sent @Cascade a message to make sure he knew they were probably gonna be hot, and he should buy them. Gotta look out for the fellow collectors
I got my 4 this morning. Debating on whether to just sell them sealed box or open them and take a look at them for myself.
I doubt if you,r sorry at all, but the 11 others without a set are really sorry. Coin Karma will soon kick in and then you too shall be sorry.
Did you get expedited shipping? I'm debating that myself. I think keep sealed until we know what the 70s and FS labeled will settle at in a few months... If you plan on waiting that long
Yeah I had to go with overnight as I'm leaving for a trip this Friday and didn't want my package to be in limbo with missed deliveries.
Really it is only 2 others without sets. (You could buy 4 coins per household. I bought 12. 12 divided by 4 is 3 orders of 4 coins, meaning I got 2 extra orders). Hopefully that takes the karma down a notch or 2.
I see you do feel a bit sorry...I hope to find a couple of these at a realistic price some day...good luck to you!
