I found this on a 1970 penny and I can only see it on the back of the head, neck and bust of Lincoln.
Sorry, but could you clarify what you think is an error? Also, two things help us help you: 1. Shoot the coin directly on instead of at an angle (make the coin parallel to the camera lens). 2. Shoot a whole coin shot to let us see the whole coin to see the potential error in perspective. I think I'm seeing what you think is doubling but I can't tell with the angle of the coin, the poor lighting, and not being able to see the whole coin. Cheers
Ok I'll try again. I'm not sure if it's doubling or what honestly. I only see it on that part of the coin, my reason for doing the angle is so people could see it better. Unfortunately I use an app on my cell phone for pictures so my picture capabilities are limited for right now.
Here is a 1972 with master hub doubling that I have. It does not affect the date. It is on In God We Trust
try this link. Here are the different 1972 doubled dies next time compare these with your coin. http://www.coppercoins.com/diesearch.php?date=1972&page=1
Thank you I'll check there and see what I find about the 1972 coin. Do you by any chance know anything about this 1970 coin on this thread?
