Has anyone here bought those old Morgan rolls with enders?

There is a company that sells them, they look quite enticing. They usually go for about 2 grand minimum. The enders look MSDPL and usually one of them is a CC mint. ???

Like myself, I also predict the other members will say, NOOOOO!
Don't fall for that "scam". They're seeded coins in those rolls. Probably lose a lot of money.

Nope, not me. If I can't see it (eye appeal) I don't want it. That includes rolls, I learned my lesson years ago, be smart not sorry! My opinion only. Good luck with your decision.

I figured that. They have zero bad reviews, for whatever that is worth.:p A recent auction had the CC spitting eagle in that roll. They claim to have old original bank machine wrappers, but mama didn't raise a dummy. Still, it's still quite a thrill if it isn't a fraud unwrapping a roll of high quality Morgans. To be fair, it's probably smarter than playing Powerball every week. :D

Stakes are a little too rich for my blood. I just wanted to know if other members had played that roulette before. :D

The "offer" is an example of Baloney with warm Limburger Cheese on 9 month old green molded Wonder Bread.

As a large volume seller they can have negative feedback removed, all they have to do is accept the return and refund the money. It's so easy for a seller to game the feedback system that I've stopped leaving feedback.

99% of the people they sell to aren't capable of figuring out what they received is worth, so they don't know they've been ripped off.

Do you honestly believe the rolls aren't screened and any coin worth more than the average isn't pulled out and sold separately? That the polished but nice-looking junk isn't saved for the enders?

It doesn't make sense that the dealer with access to buried treasure wouldn't go through these and cherry pick them. Solid reasoning, that was my first thought too. I guess the allure of the unknown is too great for certain people. Please note I have no intention of rolling the dice. I just found it interesting, it brings gambling into the equation of collecting.

All you have to do to make a decision to go to Etsy market where they are very available https://www.etsy.com/market/old_coin_wrappers

Go back wrappers for 60 years is not bad, if you are trying to fool , the 100 year old wrappers are more expensive. All look like crisp paper still. They also have some sunken gold Atocha stuff :) Don't read the ads while drinking anything :)

It seems like I've read that some banks put some silver dollars in rolls as far back as the 1930s, but the Mints always distributed them in bags. (I did see one claim that the New Orleans Mint provided silver dollars to a couple of customers in $10 rolls, but were told to cut it out.)

I've seen lots of discussion about how these eBay rolls are invariably ripoffs, and I know that "old-looking" empty rolls are readily available. I also know it's quite easy to make a new roll look old, either before or after putting coins into it.

When I was first getting back into the hobby, I went through a phase where I was tempted by "unopened rolls". I'm glad I didn't spend any money I couldn't afford to waste.

charley, please retract your comment. I don't appreciate you disparaging Wonder Bread. They made spectacular galoshes for covering our shoes on those snowy or rainy days in my yesteryear.

And as for those Morgan rolls, I wouldn't buy them with your money @Barney McRae ;)

You are right. I took it too personal when they changed the packaging and formula. Being blunt, it pizzed me off, and still does. It sort of still does.

But, you have a point. So, I apologize.

Well you'd have to steal it first. Buying something sight unseen is not something I do. But there are people that will do that without even photos. The responses here do not disappoint me. I like full contact sports, even if it's coin collecting.:D
