Never heard of them and a Google search turns up nothing. Probably a basement slabbing service for a seller. For practical purposes you have a raw coin in a plastic case. Somebody wanted to peddle graded bullion coins and knew a submission to a credible TPG would put him in the hole forever.
Its technially the key date business strike ASE but unless it comes back 70 at PCGS or NGC Its not worth the cost of submitting
You can buy an MS69 ASE in a PCGS slab for under $70. You don't know that one will cross that high. I'd sell that one and by a pcgs if that's what you're wanting. Actually I'd keep that one and buy the pcgs too. That's just how I do things lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks like they took the A from ANACS. The CGS from PCGS. And the ANACS logo. Plus they used the right font style, added a bar code and website to make it look official.
It looks like they were trying to start their own grading service (but it likely is the equivalent of a basement grader). Since the website is no longer active, I would guess they are no longer in business. Here is the archived page from 2008: https://web.archive.org/web/20081018100716/http://www.accuratecoingradingservice.com/ Some "highlights" : *5 days to grade coins *$15 per coin fee *No membership needed to submit coins
From the look at this coin you will be lucky to get a grade 69 from either NGC or PCGS or even ICG and Anac. Also this coin carry a little premium so No you should not resubmit it.
I will also add that there is little reason to submit this coin for grading (unless you want to use it as an educational tool to test your grading skills). It will most likely be cheaper to buy an already graded PCGS/NGC version.
Digging around in that web archive, their only "authorized dealer" was operating out of an antique store in Massachsetts. Two plus two here.
IMO, You own a very unattractive, beat-up piece of silver. IMO, it grades MS-64, and might make 65 on a bad day at a major TPGS. Do not crack it out! Sell it the coin for whatever you can get! Or, find another '96 and give the dealer your coin + cash.
...not too bad though my friend...look at it like a inexpensive lesson learned...now imagine how you would feel if that were an AGE in that same shanty town plastic. I wouldn't stress about your situation, live and learn
