Quite soon within the next couple of months I'm going to be sending a batch to ANACS to grade (mostly for Morgan attribution) and those already graded to Messy Desk's company that are already slabbed for stickers. What do the experts think this one will come in at? I posted it in new acquisitions thread already but I'd like to start this thread and do a reveal when it comes back. (seller's photo on this one, as I haven't received yet and my photos are horrible anyway) Thanks for opinions, either good or bad. I took a chance on the holder, hoping for a sleeper flying under the radar, and it was not relatively expensive (and didn't come from China, lol) Oh and that spot on the reverse at 4 oclock is lighting or a scratched holder. There were other photos that confirmed my opinion on that. 1880ob.jpg 1880rev.jpg 1880slab.jpg

I love Morgans but this one made me look closer. When I have to look twice or question myself, I walk away. You are an active member with experience and savvy so I will not question your choice, congrats, good luck.

Thanks. If it turns out to be a dud, it will be a cheap education. Only paid $135 for it. Not that I'm looking to flip it, but scared money doesn't make money.

That is exactly why I bought it. Shady slab flies under the radar. ICG is respectable but unrespected in the auction world. This company is 50 times less respected than ICG. I looked up this company and it's an underground company just like you said. I bought based on the coin and not the plastic. The plastic scared off everyone, except myself and two other bidders. I could get totally burned, but the potential risk is worth the potential reward if it even grades 64, it's a push.

Barney, I'm going to stick my neck out here. I have to call this one a Chinese art project.

I am far from an expert on Morgan's, but certain things just don't look authentic.

    Calling @Morgandude11, your thoughts?

Maybe, maybe not. Pictures seem a bit too clean in my estimation. Morgans always exhibit some sort of 'chatter' in the fields and on the devices, but nary a mark on this one. I echo @masterswimmer

I say unc details cleaned if it's actually genuine. These pics make me unable to call it
