i am brand new to the coin world and found this coin in a collection I inherited. It has a distinct blue color on the coin, is that a good thing?
Can you take pictures with more light? It is really hard to see what is going on with your coin. Blue toning, if it is natural, is highly desirable. However, my first guess from your pictures is that coin has some substance on it. The toning does not look natural. Also, just saw that you just joined today. Welcome!
I can retake the picture, I can assure you the coins have been in a box for about 65 years and not touched, so I would assume that its natural. However I am a complete novice!
Welcome. Natural toning is often a good thing if it is attractive, and is usually best on uncirculated or nearly uncirculated coins. Try one more picture with better light.
