Small date or large?

    Still confused on small date and large date is it just the font style of thee dates or positioning? Is this small date or Large?

    Also trying to understand double die is this an double die around the liberty and the T at the end of trust? Or is it just the coin aging? Sorry if the pics aren't great I'm using a no good tablet camera lol

    Small date. Leg of 7 is even with bottom of 0.

    Thanks for the quick response! So its just the 7 and 0 have to match up in length that's it?

    That's a LARGE date 1970S.

    You are correct. I should have enlarged the photo better. It is a large date. My mistake.

    Hard to teach doubling from one exaple unless it's extreme like a 1955 DD , some MD looks almost like Doubled Die coins and vica versa . I'd say yours is MD .

    Thanks do you know what a poor mans double die is? Can you possibly tell me how to tell the difference it seems poor mans are more dramatic? Still so much to learn.

    @Coincub Here go to this site. Put in your cents you have questions about. This site will show you pictures of what doubled dies and repunched mintmarks are supposed to look like on any given lincoln cent. It's a great tool to help see what these varieties should look like.

    I'm not sure - maybe bad pic? But "LIBERTY" doubling should be rotated UP (not side to side like OP coin) towards the doubled words "IN GOD"
