GTG Lincoln 1910 (per Cascade)

@Cascade wants some GTG threads, and doesn't demand that we have a TPG grade to resolve the issue.

So here is a sample I got at my LCS.

What do you think it grades, and why isn't it higher or why not lower?

Terrific coin. I think the mark above LIBERTY is as-struck, but the prominent one in front of the profile is not. Therefore, for my money a decent 65 becomes a 64.

 

63 rb

 

Early wheats are my favorite. Great coin. MS-64 RB maybe BN depending how accurate The pic is of the color. The strike is good, no wear. A few dark spots and marks keep it from getting 65.

62RB looks like some drawer rubs on the head not sure though.

63/64 ...there are also a few nicks on the reverse that might lower the grade (in particular the one on the bottom center)

 

Oh yeah, one of the dark spots is actually blue.

 

Lol, considering how many threads we have that dispute the TPG grading.

I'll be happy with insightful pro's and cons. (Plus my stuff is mostly raw. )

63RB, seems a bit low on luster.

 

Exactly... a coin with only average luster shouldn't grade MS65 (gem BU!) - 63/64 max in my opinion.
