I know I asked this once before, but don't remember any answers (senior moment). As a curiosity, what would these be worth (ballpark figures)? I'm leaving to teach, so I won't see any answers till tomorrow.

They are all over Ebay. Can't believe the prices some are asking.

I know, this was on craigslist in my area and he, at first, was asking a fairly high price, but now he has it asking for offers. I wouldn't mind having them, but wasn't sure what would be a good offer.

Ungraded, but in the holder, the copper and goldine/bronze set as pictured would be about $150. The silver is about the same. The sets go for $300 +/-, but the eBay prices can get nuts. Now if they grade high, you can get some money for them too.

The Bashlow re strikes are pretty valuable they were made from canceled dies and show a big through the reverse and on the obverse as well. I just learned there are some re strikes done as souvenirs that look similar but are only worth a couple of bucks. I'm no expert but I'd be cautious. What does the reverse look like?

Those are Bashlow's Restrikes. The damage to the obverse is correct. Bashlow came across Lovett's original dies, which had been cancelled and damaged, and used them to create a new pair of working dies. He struck the resulting coins most notably in Copper, Goldine, and Silver, which is considered to be the set, but they are also found in lead, aluminum, platinum, red fiber, and other metals. Bashlow donated the original dies to the Smithsonian.

The ones in the OP are Bashlow restrikes. The obverse doesn't show any marks that I can see.

With that holder, I'd try to get him under $100 but I'd be willing to pay $100.

I stand by what I said but I can't believe how much they go for now. I think I paid less than $15 each for the ones I have. Local shop has one slabbed that they want $150 for and I was shocked.

The last Bashlow I had, I sold for $75 a couple years ago. I think I had bought it for $40. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they're going for $150 today... or $40 a year from now. Confederate related anything is fickle. It's popular now due to the social/political atmosphere. Once the Black Lives Matter and All Lives Matter movements lose media coverage, the prices should drop, in kind.

If you really just want one for a collection, it may behoove you to wait for the popularity to drop.

I saw your post on Exonomia. Sets that didn't even rival yours were at 300.
    Nice Bashlows by the way!
Had to look up a few.

Been trying to organize a little and found mine. Now I just need a cool holder.
