here's one of my finds from Baltimore. 1944 D Jefferson nickel - the picture does this coin no justice - easily an MS 65 FS (5 steps). the steps just don't show on my fuzzy shot. i also picked up 2 1940's Mercury dimes, a 1941 and 1943 D. i'm looking to pick up a handful of more coins tomorrow - a few 1940's Mercury dimes and maybe a Walking Liberty half if i can swing it. -steve
i was walking by the dealer's table who had this and it caught my eye. i'm almost embrassed to admit how much i paid, but i think it was worth it - for a 1944 D, it's a sharp strike. -steve
I was going to go to the Baltimore show, but I swung by the local coin shop and found two nice coins instead. 1930 Standing Liberty Quarter/FH in AU 1862 Indian Head Cent, Copper/Nickel in XF+ That filled another hole in my type set and upgraded another one. I've pretty well spent my coin allowance for the month, unless I can find a Britannia or two that I need to finish the set. Next month, I need to pick up the three remaining Australian Lunar Coins I need to get up to date, there.
here's the tally sheet for this weekend. 1944 D Jefferson - MS 65 FS 1941 Mercury - MS 65 1943 D Mercury - MS 65 FB 1943 S Mercury - MS 65 FB 1944 S Mercury - MS 65 FB 1945 Mercury MS 65 - no FB i also picked up a 2001 20 piece Unc. Mint Set for my son's birthday tomorrow. not sure who came by the table - sorry i missed you. -Steve
