Seems there are a few "star note" fans here so I'm going to share some pics of my larger denomination notes. The scans aren't the best (still working on that) but hope you enjoy them anyway. This is also a good illustration of how fast collecting star notes can become expensive even at face value. ALL of these notes were pulled from circulation and grade from VF to CU (Crisp Uncirculated - I can explain that). Average grade is XF-AU. http://s182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/cointalk/?action=view¤t=star0001.jpg 1963A I00051018* (128,000 printed) http://s182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/cointalk/?action=view¤t=star0002.jpg 1977 A04399814* http://s182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/cointalk/?action=view¤t=star0003.jpg 1977 D00766476* ....and now for something completely different. One of these days I'll go into smaller denominations but that will take some time. clembo
nice collection you have! you can stop collecting more however! the less you collect, the more in circulation for me =D
The 1963A is a tough note to find. On the other hand the consecutive 1996 AL-* are sweet. I guess it's a tie.
That's a bunch of large denomination star notes. I once was issued 5 crisp star note $20s out of an ATM. That was a good day. Probably will never happen again. I appreciate you sharing your notes with us.
