I think I found a New Error on the John Adams Dollars!

I was 2x2'ing up some John Adams Dollars to take to a local Gun Show (yes, even coins sell good at Gun Shows!) and found a new error (on the Philadelphia minted coins) that I believe has so far been overlooked! From the bottom of the first "A" in ADAMS to the hairline of John Adams' head, there is what looks like a miniature Beanie Cap sitting on his head. There error is obtuse (somewhat semi-circle) and I first thought that it was from a severe Die Gouge, however there is a small Die Crack along the top of his head and slightly within the hairline. This makes me believe that a small Die Crack started in this area and caused a piece of the Die (above John Adams' head) to chip away. The neat thing about it is, that the Die Crack really makes the error look like a miniature Beanie Cap sitting on his head!

Sorry that I don't have pics but I will try to post some later!

    Frank:
I look forward to seeing them.
considering that it was a gun show: perhaps it was used for target practice, a la Annie Oakley?

I have found 2 of these as well, and others in the same roll had a die crack running through the torch on the reverse.

Pics of John Adams Dollar with "Beanie Cap" Error!

    Hey Folks,

I am sorry for the delay in taking and posting some pictures of the error that I found on the 2007-P John Adams Dollars! It has been a busy week, starting with last weekend. I am almost certain that this error was started by a Die Crack which after time and use (of the Obverse Die), caused a piece of the Die to fail and chip out. I have extensively examined this raised area and can find no design elements from the Reverse Die which would make me believe that it is from clashing.
