I was on Heritage recently and put in what I thought was a very strong bid on a large size bust quarter from the McClure collection. It was nice for the grade but still only a G6, and I thought the pedigree might add a small premium to the price. Was I ever mistaken! I got absolutely blown out of the water, so I looked at some other coins that were coming up. I ended up with this nice steel gray XF bust half to add to my type set. It has no fancy stickers or labels but now has the best pedigree of all - I own it
I believe that this is a rpd you may want to check it out at Indianvarieties.com there are 39 known rpd for the 1899 IHC. Nice coin BTW.
Here is a Celtic Drachm I got awhile ago, mainly for, what I assume is a die crack at 1 o'clock? Looks like a spear shaft in head. Celtic, Lower Danube, Uncertain tribe. 2nd century B.C. AR Drachm Imitating Philip III of Macedon O: Head of Herakles wearing lions skin headdress knotted at throat, right. R: Zeus enthroned holding eagle. 19mm 3.61g Lanz 939; CCCBM I 203-4
Fossilized shark tooth next to a Morgan for size comparison. It's been in circulation for 65-100 million years. 1909-S VDB and 1877 IHC melted together.
If you'll send the shark tooth to PCGS, they'll probably grade it, and then Heritage Auctions will sell it!
