    I currently have found five in my career of crh. A 1898, 1900, 2 1903 and a 1904.

Probably should have clarified being that this is a CRH thread, I've never hunted anything besides cents and nickels, I was talking about circulation finds as well, scoped out a peace dollar at the bank a couple years ago ;) So I've found at least one of every business strike silver coin in normal everyday travels, with the exception of a war nickel grrrrrrrr :sour:

I got a 1922 Peace at one of my banks last year. First real silver dollar since I bought an 1897 Morgan off a cashier at an A&W when I was a kid. I have not and probably never will find them in rolls in banks, it is difficult enough to find Ikes.

Picked up $20 in customer nickel and penny rolls... kind of an underwhelming batch, with the highlight being 2 dimes in the penny rolls.

In the nickels, just a 1954-D & 1958-D, nothing special

    Pennies - 1946, 1947, 1958, 2009, 5 Canadians (oldest 1972)

Aw, those underwhelming batches... I hate those!!! Whenever I get CWR, I'm always halfleery and half anticipating, because they seem to usually either be very good or very bad, and rarely in between.

image.jpg Two Loomis boxes were shunks but stopped at local BoA near the house, teller had 20-40s and 1-90. Nice surprise almost did not stop because they never have any!

Banks 1-6: $4.50 in clad halves, 1971 Ike

    Bank 7:

    $25 loose halves - 1965, 1967, 1968-D, 1969-D - most of the rest were circulated Bicentennials.

$24 loose Ikes - nothing spectacular

About $45 in halves... one 40% and one 90% Ken. First silver in a while and the first 90% in a long time.

This week I picked up 8 rolls of nickels when I was at the bank. In the first roll I opened I found an uncirculated 1938-S Jefferson nickel. Not bad given they go for about $10 on Ebay. And it's always nice to upgrade my nickel album with an uncirculated coin that I didn't have to purchase, especially when it's a semi-key date for the series.

I've been a little busy recently but I have had good cent scores. I've looked through 4 boxes of cents and have found my first cent proof dated 1972s. I have found a cent from the teens I can't make out the date. Yesterday I had a box with ten wheats oldest being 1919d. I also found a 1926s which is a hole filler for me! I will post pics when I have time.

Are you sure it was a proof? Could be an MS business strike

I asked for halves from a teller after I deposited a check today. The teller said, "I have a lot, how many do you want?"

I said, "how many is a lot?"

Teller says, "between $500 and $600 worth", so I said "I'll take $20 worth."

Of course the wrappers were crisp and new with a pink highlighter mark on each of them because they were someone's dump...Bank can keep the rest!

I'll hope for better luck next time.

At least they were marked. I'm tired of other searchers "sh@tting the pool" with their dumps without marking the rolls. MARK YOUR ROLLS! And tell the teller they have been searched. Message for newbies, "Have some consideration and mark you rolls"

$500 of it is dump, but the extra few rolls might not be.

And thankfully there are tellers out there that will tell you the rolls have already been searched.

This goes out to everyone. Just because rolls may have been previously searched doesn't mean there may not be good finds to be found in them. Collectors and searchers don't all necessarily look for or save the same thing. Perhaps this searcher left proofs, older halves in or near BU condition (such as desirable 1982/1983/1987 halves) or post-2001 halves behind in the rolls. Also, it's not uncommon for 40% halves to be overlooked or unwittingly left in by searchers.

Normally, I would agree with you, but this particular teller has told me in the past there is a depositor who has told him about 40% and 90% halves and shown the teller how to pick the silvers out of a stack. The teller claimed he didn't care and doesn't bother to look through halves when they are deposited at this bank, but I don't believe it.

The mark on the wrappers was the "teacher", who obviously is not only polluting the pool in this bank, but also foolishly teaching tellers which coins contain silver.

In addition, I've picked up this "teacher's" dumps from this bank in the past and found nothing collectible...I've officially marked this bank off my list of places to ask for halves.

I just hit the nickel jackpot... bought 44 of 50 LOOMIS rolls from a box over the past two days, and another box of 50 LOOMIS rolls from another teller today... The first batch was crazy and produced 170 pre-60s. The other batch had 37 pre-60s. The final tally: 207 pre-60s including three Buffalos, a 1938-D Jefferson, a 1938-S, and an AU 1939-D!!! 38s-39d.jpg 37-38D.jpg
