Schlueter" 1909 Indian Head Cent (reverse) A rare and very old LIRR valuation photo of the Broad Channel station and station area looking south from the pedestrian crossover (bridge) on August 3, 1914. The ticket office and waiting room appear to be housed in the first floor of the Delevan House at the left as evidenced by the bay window and scattered chairs. I don't know the history behind the Good Luck Cent. But is that the Broad Channel Station on the Rockaway Line? I bet @paddyman98 has found some of these down on the beach.
No not yet.. only elongated Cents. I did have an encased Wheat Cent once. A 1931, I forced it out to add the Cent to my Whitman folder and realized that the Cent was smaller due to the pressure forced upon it. Dumb idea.. well I was about 16 years old and a novice at the time
After posting this I had to go read a bit about the expo. President William McKinley was shot at the expo and later died. Lots of history behind these tokens.
Threads pop up about the coins that are removed from these holders. They show some interesting damage from being pressed into the holder.
Don't know the history behind these things. I should probably look it up. I wonder if they originated in New York?
