I have yet to find a bank here in Alabama that I couldn't walk in & "buy" any coin rolls I wanted that they had without an account.

That being said... I've yet to find one that would allow me to cash rolls IN without an account.

There is nothing wrong with asking a bank you dont have an account with to sell you coins...no biggie. I dont have an account at the bank I get mine from and they are very cool about it (its a western union bank)...I did this because the bank I DO have an account with (BA) didnt have them...and on the whole balks whenever I inquire about rolls of anything...

I say go for it...its not a big deal at all.

The question that has to sit in the back of your mind is if they balk at getting rolls of coins for you, what other requests would they balk at?

Yes, same here, I just ask politely for $5 in cents or a roll or two of Prez dollers, state quarters or what have you.
It's not a big deal and if they aren’t too busy their happy to oblige.
Just use common courtesy and don't hit the same bank up more than twice a week, thats my strategy.

Why not? there is 3 options they will probably give 1) No, 2) Yes how many would you like, 3) If you do not have an account with us we can not give out rolls to non customers, then go and open an account with the minimum ballance and go back to the same teller and ask again. Thats what I do, it works every time

I've been to the following to get rolls with no problems - all were happy to help and didn't ask if I had an account - just paid my paper money for coin rolls. Some of these are regional banks:

    Bank of America
    US Bank
    Wheatland Bank
    Washington Mutual
    Sterling Savings Bank
    Inland Northwest
    American West

I have traded paper money for coin rolls at many banks that I don't have accounts with, and I have never been refused solely because I'm not an account holder. It doesn't hurt to try different banks - and at the worst case, what do you and the teller lose? 1 minute or less of their and your time.

Thats the policy in my town also goldcollector. No account No rolls. So where ever I travel if that city has my bank there I go and get rolls there.
