I have a 1964 JFK with off marks to the right of his head that look like tick tack toe marks in the field. They are very very light and from a distance looks like a matte finish. I'll take a photo when I get time, but is this a common occurrence and something completely ordinary?

Googled "tic tac toe" "kennedy half" "1964" and came up to a link for this, coincidentally on CT: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/th...held-thought-id-share-it-with-you-all.273068/

Post one has some 'tic tac toe' marks on the neck of a 1964 D Kennedy half. If yours are anything like this (size) they are just likely some sort of contact mark and have no value. Post 3 has another pic of these.

But who knows, 'cuz I see no pics of yours.

That's fair enough! Let me see if I can get a photo of it that will show what I'm talking about. It's weird. I don't expect it to be of value but I'm curious to what caused it. Drum roll..........much disappointment. The room I'm in sucks for lighting and I don't have special lighting for coins. They do better in direct sunlight. But here it is, as pitiful as it is. To the right of the head in this crappy lighting, it looks like little black dots instead of the railroad ties. It's not bag marks, it's not a ding, it's something else. I'll try another photo in better lighting at another time. I apologize for the abysmal photo in advance. Oh and I have not cleaned this. I soaked for a minute or two in acetone, but no cigar. Still the same. IMG_1544.JPG IMG_1544.JPG

My description of "railroad tracks" was a poor description. It looks more like gridlines on an Excel spreadsheet. Just wondering if anyone else has seen a coin with similar deformities?
