Rono: We used to get some neat things 'back in the day'. I remember getting a Barber quarter from a customer on my paper route, at first I thought that it was a foreign coin. Very neat, and it really launched me into reading up on coins.
Hi Ruben, Yeppers, the 1921-D Walker is running between $450 in VG and $650 in F. It's one of the key dates for the series. peace, rono
Hi Frank, Back in 3rd Grade our teacher started everyone collecting a year set of pennies. This would have been in '55-56 or so as I was born in '48. Back then you could still find indian heads in bank rolls on a fairly regular basis. I'm not much for having regrets, but I guess I do sort of regret that I didn't stay with collecting continuously all these years. Sure, I kept my coins, but collected off and on thru the years. Think if I'd just been buying a mint set and proof set all these years and ACTIVELY collecting. Where I DID make out like a bandit was in the mid-70's when I was running restaurants. Went thru ALL the change and bought all the silver for face value. Cha-Ching! When I went back to school in the late 70's the Hunts were cranking the market and I was able to very nicely augment my GI Bill by selling junk silver. I may not have been a consistant collector over the years, but I've always been a weasel. ;-) take care, rono Alas,
Mine is a 1912D Barber Half in XF condition. Second place is a 1960 Franklin Proof (with no noticable damage from being circulated) As for the kid that spent a $100 platinum coin, I think it's pretty obvious that kid isn't going to college.
Well just to name some, nothing rare or expensive just cool. Canadian 1939 10 cents Canadian 1923 1 cent
