I spent a handful at Wendy's today. The clerk accepted them for real money.

I wonder what the reaction from that person (or at any store for that matter) would be if a two cent piece, and a three cent nickel was spent in place of a nickel.

 

6 90% silver ones including a 1943-S Walker, 8 40% silver ones including a 1968-S Proof, a complete set of NIFCs from 2002-2015, and several various non-silver proofs from 1976 to 2005.

 

I've often wondered the same thing just never wanted to try it LOL

 

I spent a few at a restaurant last week and the clerk accepted them as real DOLLARS. I couldn't walk away without correcting her... Success?

It would be too expensive to try that. LOL. Spending half dollars is much safer for your wallet!

 

The bank is getting my weekly box tomorrow... hoping it will be half as good as last week's box (1943-S, 1964, 1964-D, 1967, 1992-S).

Wendy's is a pretty big fast food chain. I'm pretty sure there's at least a few in every state in the U.S.

Found this today from a CWR!! First 1970D I've ever found

 

Decided to get some half dollars today for the first time since 2012. Bank only had one roll, but in there was a 1968D.

 

Nice find there! I have yet to find one of those after searching hundreds of boxes!
