1963 Jefferson nickel

    Hello I have a question. I have a 1963 Jefferson nickel with a c missing in Monticello anybody ever heard of such a thing?

    Yes. I have seen the missing C in MONTICELLO. It's considered a struck through grease. Meaning that the letter C on the Die had compacted grease buildup so it didn't allow the letter C to form properly when it struck the blank planchet.

    Nothing really major.
