1857 $20 Liberty added to the collection

    My earliest date $20 Liberty to date has
    been an 1873 but found this 1857 AU/53
    CAC certified coin so I had to make it mine, here’s a couple of pics.

    Really nice. And it's not a ss republic salvage so it has beautiful surface. Once it was not the most common type 1 date. I remember trying to buy an old green label pcgs cac au55 and underbid it

    It was an important pick up for my collection, have been looking for a pre
    civil war $20 liberty for some time and
    this fits in great with my collection :)

    Think of all those 1950's and 1960's TV Western shows we all watched in primetime or in reruns...whenever they mentioned gold coins or more specifically DEs, they were talking about coins like this. :D
