Was looking to purchase a 1916-D dime and stumbled across this one. It is a very, very blatant fake and the seller is being very stubborn. I have contacted the seller a few times and he informed me that he is an "expert" and that it is "100% real", yeah sure. Some very uninformed people have already bid it up to $340! I have reported this listing two times so far and on both occasions eBay sided with the seller. Hopefully if we have enough people report it, it will be taken down. Here is a link and picture of the listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/364679372288?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11051.m43.l1123&mkcid=26&ch=osgood&euid=81d6af87471a471a9fd1050b40c2800c&bu=45536257045&osub=-1~1&crd=20240115151929&segname=11051
Yep, looks like an Alibaba special! https://www.alibaba.com/product-det...2700.pc_countrysearch.main07.7.1f764b1bNlJOTp
Reported same but ebay was very quick to point out that they didn't find any policy violation. Lots of protection there...
How is there no violation? It's a replica coin not marked COPY, at the very least. I've reported as well.
Here is what I got from the-bay.. What happened: We looked into your report and didn’t find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made using automation or artificial intelligence. AI appears to be as much of a problem as the fraudulent listing.
Hey it worked Must be after a certain number of reports an actual person looks at it, or something like that.
Most places (such as social media) tend to do that, if enough people report something it no longer gets handled by the automated system. Way to go - Taking Gotham back one villain at a time, LOL
