My original post of my 1952 Lincoln was not the best. It was an iPhone photo, overexposed and not well focused. This was the coin, showing some spotting and a couple of corrosion spots on the reverse.

It's actually a pretty nice coin, but I was ready for an upgrade. I found this on eBay for $5.50.

I upgraded this 1953-D at the local coin shop for $1.50. I think it had been sitting in the back room for a few decades so probably the price should have been adjusted. He even gave me a discount from that marked price!

Weak strike on the front part of his coat? I’m looking at the 53D real hard. Am I right?

You are right, yes. It also looks pretty weak at the back of the neck. If it was any weaker his head would be floating above his body!

1943-S Lincoln Steel Wheat cent. Last one I needed for a graded set. This reverse on this coin is much more lustrous than the obverse.

Not to discourage you....but I've been searching for 25+ years and have never found one. I know several other decade+ level searchers that have never found one either. Now the good news....

Oddly, I found many more coins far more valuable than the 60P small date and the small dates are fairly plentiful in the marketplace and cheap as hell. In fact, whenever I ran across a nice SD at a show I'd buy it. Now I have a full roll:

The crème de la crème of my searching. These are tough in gem grade. The mints and Fed had a way of beating them to death before the banks even saw them. They were making billions so no care at all was taken.

Too many to list all! All of the 98,99,2000 WAMs, and various other varieties. Also found quite a few ultra gem coins MS-67-up.

Those sure are nice BadThad, Will never give up the search but if you have been looking that long my chances are pretty slim. Have several bags of earlier date lincolns to go thru so I'll focus on that.

This post completes my posting of the Memorial cents.

I use an Intercept Shield album for my Lincoln Cents. Unfortunately, the last page ends at 2007, so it cannot store the entire set of memorial cents. The 2008 cents have to be stored somewhere else.

Here are the cents in their natural habitat.

I had given up hope then I found 2 of them just a couple of months apart. PURE LUCK, both were mint state too! I had one NGC slabbed MS-65 and sold it for $550.
