I am selling my coins on ebay very long time and have a very high seller reputation. But I want to " graduate " from ebay and open my own personal business website and use it to buy and sell my silver, gold and other collectable coins and Currency. Can someone help me to figure out which websites providers are the best to open a professional online shopping website.? Thanks.

If you want to look professional, you'll want to develop your own site. Square Trade, Woocommerce, and PayPal all offer backend solutions for web developers. Our non profit's website is currently powered by PayPal and Woo but we are transitioning to Square after our big event in October. There are a few things to consider when selecting a payment engine. All are more or less the same if you only sell online but if you integrate a live point of sale, Square is the standard.

For hosting Godaddy is probably your best option
For payment processing I would recommend payment depot as your fees will be the interchange plus 5 cents instead of 2.9%
For design I know a few guys pm me if you're interested.

If ebay is, and long has been, your bread and butter, perhaps you may want to consider simply expanding as opposed to graduating "from" it.

There is no such thing "website provider". At this point you probably need to do some reading, the part where you ask for help on a particular topic should come on a much later stage.

After taking into account the costs for: domain, hosting, web design/installation/configuration, payment gateway for CCs, security measures (for example SSL certificate), SEO costs and so on, you will very seriously reconsider eBay.

Consider investing at least $2,500.00 to even get started with any decent site and Taxidermist is quite correct.

OK, it's possible to spend $2500 or more, but any business needs an investment .Anyway I pay Ebay and PayPal for each transaction. Thanks again for my post reply.

Have you ever tried Facebook - I don't know how it works as I refuse to get on there - But my wife sells tons of stuff on there as she spins yarn and knits all kinds of clothes from babies to adults!!

Is it possible to sell with Facebook? I think it is just a social network.

I don't know - but my wife has been selling things on Facebook for years - I think she just shows what she has knitted then people respond with asking her if she can make them ones like her pictures show - I can't say for sure cause I don't know anything about Facebook. BUT I've read about other people from Coin Talk writing about how they have seen Facebook coin dealers - I don't know for sure, guess you could look into it!!

A strategy where you maintain your sales on eBay while encouraging your customer base to move over to your website and slowly phasing out eBay altogether would be the best route if you don't see eBay playing a part in the future of your business.

Yes, you can sell things on Facebook now. Just create a page for your business and get this shop plugin for it. Adapt to it and list your item and then promote it.

Bonus Tip: investing in Facebook ads works very well you should consider a monthly budget if you go this route or some mixture of the many routes you can take.

    Wish you the best!

Thanks for the praise Yoda . . . I'll PM the OP and provide a big picture view of all that's involved so he / she doesn't make an uninformed decision.

I agree with some excellent advice given here OP. The problem with graduating from Ebay is marketing. Ebay is successful because its, well, Ebay. Its a very well known site so millions go there and shop. This is the value. Anyone can have a website, but without customers its meaningless.

I would agree to create a website, continue posting on Ebay but post your website there as well to try to transition your customers on Ebay to your website.

I agree with you. Ebay is a big marketplace.

Yup... that's pretty much what I said. ;)

Well, short the "completely phase out part"... that should be to be determined.
