1978 Eisenhower $1 ( Proof ) circulation find.

I actually went to my local market a couple hours ago just to buy some milk
and a couple other things and when I
went to pay for it the cashier did not
have any change as she was just coming
on duty, she owed me back $1.00 so she
looked under her tray and gave me this,
it’s obvious someone had put there for
safe keeping, but I guess it was my lucky
day

A cashier may have put it there because there was no dollar coin slot available. A gorgeous '78-S, you lucky devil. Your New Year is starting out very happy huh!

She was pretty young, honestly I don’t think she paid to much attention, only
that it was a dollar, I have feeling someone
is going to be looking for that tomorrow..LOL

Yeah, lots of cashiers put the "misfits" underneath. That seems more likely than someone trying to save it for themselves.

Then there's the place I buy lunch when I have to go to the office, where they have one big drawer with all denominations in a pile. Every time that drawer pops open I want to start digging through it.

 

Well I think if she actually new what it was she would have kept it for herself..LOL
