Can someone share with me a website or book that has a list of all known US FRN plate blocks? I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out if my 1934 $5 notes are mules.

    Thanks in advance,
    RM

Thank you very much. I should have been more clear. I'm looking for known 'back plate' numbers for the different FRN #s.

This guide book is considered the standard for small-size collectors. The 9th edition would also work well.

Thanks. It lists back block plate numbers for each FRN? Big price difference between 7th - 8th - 9th editions..... Worth the $$$?

Yes, it references back plate numbers.
I used the 9th Edition and didn’t see much difference between it and the 10th.

While that book is certainly useful, you don't need a list of plate numbers to figure out whether a 1934 note is a mule or not. Just look at the font size of the plate numbers.

All 1934-plain face plates have smaller "micro"-size numbers. All 1934A through 1934D face plates have larger "macro"-size numbers. Non-mules have the back plate number the same size as the face plate number. Mules have the back plate number the other size instead.
