Hey I’m really thinking of purchasing three incestuous coins of Ptolemaic Kingdom. The two coins beneath here are attributed as Ptolemy II Philadelphοs 285-246 BC minted in Alexandria. The first 28 mm, 15,12 gram. The second 30 mm, 20,94 gram. And that one coin beneath is attributed as Ptolemy III Euergetes 246-221 BC minted in Alexandria. 40 mm, 40,42 g: Can anyone with expertise tell me whether they are attributed correct? Is it even possible to identify them in such a worned condition? It is very important to me that the first two are minted during the reign of the son of Ptolemy I Soter, and that all are minted in Alexandria (and not other Egyptian cities). Thank you for any help you can provide.
I don't really know anything about Ptolemaic coins, but maybe you can find yours here: http://ptolemybronze.com/ptolemy_series.html. And I do think that last one might match this: https://www.cgbfr.com/egypte-royaume-lagide-ptolemee-iii-evergete-tetrobole-ttb,bgr_627101,a.html
Rather than buy either coin, why not wait and get one coin in better condition? I guess it all depends on what you are paying. I suggest you ask the members for a price range to make sure you get value.
I would wait for some nicer examples to come around. I recently found better ones in my local dealer's ancient bucket, they cost me a whopping $5 each!
