So for my first ever coin show I was highly impressed at the amount of people who were there!

Now I do understand that this is a business venture for the people running the booths and only the serious collectors with the money to afford a serious addition to their collections were the main goal...

But i thought the whole kids treasure hunt that they did was very cool!

Also wanted to thank John Milton for giving me his attention and going thru some coins and questions I had on my learning adventure. I learned alot, got verification on some, and got shot down on others. But all without any kind of patronizing or condescending attitude! It was so greatly appreciated! How cool to meet this man in person and his commrade Greg (not sure of his last name!). I feel so honored that they took their time to address my newbie questions! They also gave me great directions on how to go about answering more in the future.

Also, a shout out to Insider! He looked so completely different than I had imagined! Lol. But what he doesnt know is how many people complimented him on his skill level as a grader in this industry as I walked around! Its truly a pleasure to call him my friend! So great to meet him in person! I wanted to thank him for all the time and attention he gave me and for directing me to John Miltons table! Talk about coin royalty! Lol

On a side note. John informed me that I had UNknowingly found one of HIS and his commrades discovery, a 1917 DDR!!! So not only to learn about something I wasnt aware of but to meet 1 of the people who discovered it!

There was a few other people who I cant remember their names and Noel White (doesn't do coin talk) and his son who were awesome as well!

Overall I am so glad I took that long drive down! Not to mention the break from winter weather!

    Thanks again gentlemen!

    Any pictures? :snaphappy:
You are supposed to take pics with CoinTalk members. I have done that at other coin shows.

Sounds like you had a good trip! Though there are cases of very expensive coins, I've found shows have a wide assortment of material for everyone. Many dealers will spend some time with you if there's not a bunch of people at the booth. I even follow a few I met at the Nashville show on Instagram.

I need a new phone. It changed what I wrote after it posted. Fun, informative and you can usually find a special coin that’s hard to find elsewhere.

I went on Saturday. It was my first time at the fun show and it was overwhelming so much stuff to see makes your eyes hurt! The only thing I did not like was waiting for a price from some vendors. There were a few times that i walked away because they were taking too long with another customer. I was on a time limit and a mission. I had money to spend!!! Besides that I had a blast and my mission was accomplished and much more. Can’t wait for July so i can spend more money. Here are two of the things i wanted most to add to my addiction. upload_2024-1-7_23-15-42.jpeg upload_2024-1-7_23-15-42.jpeg upload_2024-1-7_23-15-42.jpeg upload_2024-1-7_23-15-42.jpeg upload_2024-1-7_23-15-42.jpeg upload_2024-1-7_23-15-42.jpeg

I thought the new discovery was a 1909 DDR. Guys, Kristine is a very smart "cookie" who asks a lot of good questions.

PS Surprise, Surprise. Kristine was not expecting to see a short, fat, gray-haired, eighty-year-old hunchback man. I told her I was a tan, blond, six feet, twenty-seven-year-old body builder. :D
