Hello, I recently bought a kiseru pipe with a tobbaco pouch on internet from Japan. Inside the pouch i found this coin that i can't identify on internet, in the description it says " the pouch dates from the Taisho period () or earlier". On my pictures it looks a bit like bronze due to the light but it is silver looking. I wonder if it is a fake or something else than Currency and When was it created ( I tried to understand the kanjis , some might mean "samurai,gentlemen or going man" but it is really hard) I only found 1 photo with the same kanjis at : http://www.delcampe.net/page/item/i...-SILVER-999-EN-ACHAT-IMMEDIAT,language,F.html Thank you for your time!
I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than I will respond but I looked in Krause and found similar pieces but none had the 999. My guess is modern reproduction. If I'm wrong, you got a $500-1500 freebie.
