Security Top Priority in 2024-Dealers/Collectors On Christmas day Bellevue Coins in Tacoma Washington was burglarized and the amount of loss is unclear at this time. It is important for dealers and collectors to conduct a personal and business threat assessment to identify strengths and weaknesses in security measures. The Numismatic Crime Information Center will be participating in a security symposium sponsored by PNG at FUN on January 3, 2024, and presenting a security program at the New York International show the following week. Security should be a priority for all dealers and collectors in 2024. As the year draws to a close, we reflect on the strides made in fighting numismatic crime. The Numismatic Crime Information Center has been at the forefront of combating theft and fraud within the numismatic industry, assisting dealers, collectors, and investors globally, and our success would not be possible without the support of the numismatic community. In 2023, we faced unprecedented challenges, but our commitment to protecting collectors, dealers, and the entire numismatic community remained steadfast. With the financial support of the numismatic community, we were able to expand educational initiatives, identify and track organized crime groups, provide real-time criminal activities through the NCIC email crime alert network, assist numismatic crime victims and increased collaboration with law enforcement at all levels. As we approach the end of the year, we ask for your continued support to enable us to provide free educational and investigative resources to the numismatic and law enforcement community. NCIC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, and your tax-deductible donation can be sent to P.O. Box 14080 Arlington, Texas 76094, or PayPal. Your donation can make a significant impact on our ability to combat numismatic crime worldwide. Have a safe and happy New Year in 2024!! Not that NCIC doesn't do important work, but seriously? One sentence about the robbery (yet that's the headline) and the rest is a solicitation for donations. Second: If you are going to repost from emails, you want to remove the PII such as your email address and the unsubscribe link!
Thanks for pointing that out. Also, here's a link to the story that I forgot to add . . . trying to go too fast as I prepare for FUN.
