Definitely MS 61. I like the luster, but it seems a little marred. Then again, that could just be from the enlarged image.

Just an opinion for fun, I have a hard time grading Buffs in hand, let alone a picture.:) Pretty tho'.

1934D Buffaloes were notorious for weak strikes on the reverse. Also the center of the obverse is often soft. This sometimes gives the appearance of wear. Just throwing that out there.

Sorry to say but I think AU Details for polishing.
    But it is still lovely.

I don't see polish but I could be wrong.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I don't see evidence of polishing. I also don't see any evidence of wear, especially on the obverse (which is better lit). The color, while unusual, appears natural and attractive. There are a number of marks on the coin.

I believe it grades 61, or maybe 62.

Wait! I am the 1st to mention MS 61. Don't I get any credit for that? Ha, ha!

Sorry, Jason got more street cred than you :)

PS: I also think low MS is correct. Looks like weak strike rather than wear. Oh, and I'd give it a STAR for its eye appeal...

Did your friend take these pictures? Because it looks like he knows what he's doing.

What's the bottom-line here? Are you planning on submitting it?

These are his pictures and he does it with a cell phone. I am thinking about submitting it just because I wanted to see if my opinion was right. If I do it will probably be ANACS because they are cheaper and by comparison just as accurate. JMHO on TPG I do realize PCGS and NGC get more credit on here but I'm not a member of any of the three except for the free online membership. I've never submitted a coin. Maybe this is a subject for another thread. LOL

Wow! A cell phone took those pictures? I should invest in a new cell phone.

No, I would say you're on track with your thinking. I did the same thing. I just submitted some on their summer special. When that box comes back from ANACS, it's like Christmas in August!...........hopefully!

Oh, now I remember you. I bought those quarters from you late last year. I will always love that 1920 SLQ you sold me. Perhaps, Jason does have more "street cred" than me, but I still know my buffalo nickels, and no one can take that from me! Ha, ha!

    Grading Buffalos is tricky.

Grading Buffalos from photos is even trickier.

They are all just educated guesses, really.
