I just purchased an unremarkable estate collection but it did contain this curious little fella. The edges are capped, the metal is odd and porous and the date is tough to tell (1935?). Any ideas as to what I have here? I haven’t done any real research yet as. The CoinTalk forums are usually my first stop.
    Thanks in advance!

My guess is that it is a normal silver quarter that was "spooned" and maybe further tortured by being exposed to a fire. May it finally rest in peace.

The date looks like 1975 to me. The edges look like it was hit repeatedly with a spoon. It’s definitely damaged.

Call the police. Someone badly abused that coin.

Just PMD for unknown reasons, IMO
