Yes, it is lovely. Heck, I'm afraid to light the 50 year old A2 electric candles for more than an hour, and those are a standalone 3-candle unit.

My Secret saturn was over-the-top generous. Unless he got a really good deal on them, the two coins could run $200,easy. A respected member at the other forum received coins worth about $10, on a good day. I thought that was kind of extreme...

I gave a Seleucid Tetradrachm to said Saturn last year.

He could be visiting family, in an airport, or virtually anything. I only post via PC, not my phone, so it could easily be something like that.

 

It stays lit for no more than 5 minutes. And I’m right there watching as is my roommate. Worst case i grab the pot of water off the woodstove. So we’re careful. But it’s fun too. Especially with a 30 year collection of antique ornaments. I have so many of the counterbalance candleholders I can’t put them all on the tree. And I’ve given a few away over the years. But I’ve collected them for 30 years

Agreed. I try to do what I can. I’ve been on both ends of the circumstances. Where I barely had 2 wooden nickels to rub together. And I’ve had years I had plenty of money as well. For me it’s far more about trying to really brighten someone’s day than anything I get. Though I must say last year I was really surprised.

 

Yes, since I have to send things directly from vcoins, I don't have much time to prepare. I mostly have some genres picked out.

The French dealer numiscorner has both ancients and U.S., also very neat French medallions. They ship pretty quickly. I guess I could go with them.

I pretty much knew what coin I wanted to get when I got my pairing. It was a collector (who's not on this forum) who collects super-budget stuff, so it was really fun to try and brighten his collection.
