It's been awhile since I posted. I haven't had anything interesting . Found in my brother-in-law's pocket change. It is obviously thicker than a regular quarter along the edge. Some of this may be PMD, but not sure what we're looking at here
I'm no expert, but based on the wear and the smooth edge I would think it's a dryer coin. Either way it's damaged @larryb1918.
It’s not flat enough to be a dryer coin. Some folks beat the edge with a spoon and that’s what happened here. The reason for doing so is once it’s flat and round enough it’s drilled out to make a ring.
OP…. Welcome to CoinTalk. I was a very prolific coin spooner when I was a kid…. It takes a very long time but you can tap the edges of a coin and it slowly rolls the edge over. Get it where you want it and drill the center… Viola, you have a cheap ring…. Anyway, that’s what this poor kid did for kicks…. Yep, somebody started a spooning project and gave up with that one.
