Very Nice, I like that style, almost like those East India Company coins of the Victorian Age... Thanks for posting them. Ben

ia m glad you got sucked in one crew member on the voyage to discover new and exciting indian coins and dont listen to De Orc he is busy playing Dr Scully at the moment its not an illness its a gift maybe we can make a believer out of bonedigger too?
Could it possibly be they rubbed the kings head for luck? I do know that many thought a kings touch could cure illness & if you look at the coinage of Elisabeth the first (amongst others) you normaly find the heads very worn Just a thought.
Actualy while I did mean it in a humerous way about this coin, it is very true of a lot of the hammerd early coins, the populace believed in the divinity of the monarchy, and as the king or queens portrait was on the coinage perhaps that would have the same effect as touching the real thing
spock, if you know a place where i can buy the 1 anna coins of Edward VII in UNC, please let me know... i'd like to buy one for my collection...
I just received a Maratha Confederacy (C. 1750) the other day. Not in the greatest shape, but I like it anyway. Raja Sri Chhatrapati Shivaji KM# 267 The coin is slightly too big for my QX5.
I just got these coins. I already have 5 from British India. So, I am going to try and collect a few coins from this period. I really like them. It cost me like $1 a coin.
