Gee 6 sales and 87.5 positive, what could go wrong.

His 87% low positive rating is enough to keep me away. Be smart not sorry!

Here's an example of "the expensive one." I usually try to buy things like this certified. The trouble is that it's copper, the urge to "enhance the color" can really get you in trouble when you buy items like this.

BTW, I am not a big doubled die collector, but it's my understanding that there are many variations on the 1972 DDO. The story I heard was that there was an old guy at the Philadelphia Mint who though he had developed a "streamlined way of making dies." Unfortunately, he made a lot of doubled dies, major and minor.

Looks like he's had one sale go wrong, and it was not coin related. That wouldn't affect my decision.

What would affect my decision is that I don't know how to authenticate this variety from the photos provided, and a $200 coin is definitely worth a counterfeiter's time, so I wouldn't trust a raw example.

I would think that if you could find one that is graded “Brown” that you could buy it at a much lower price. Everyone wants the modern cents as “Red.”

Here’s mine and U’ve owned this for a long time. Too many years to count. It’s worth more than triple today and it’s certified snd still this color.
There are many varieties of this date so you must decide which one you want. This is the color and doubling that is the most desirable or close to it. Good luck on getting one but don’t buy a raw one. It needs to be certified.
