2002 D Roosevelt Collar clash

Looking for opinions on this one. Some say yes others say no.

Thanks Paddyman. I was hoping you would reply. I showed this to several coin club members. All viewing under loop, only one said yes.

 

Your photos are too blurred to make a determination. It appears as if your dime lacks reeding. If so, your "collar clash" is what's left of the original reeding after it was effaced.

 

Now that I look more carefully.. that makes sense

Can you elaborate please? It is indeed as you described. There is a complete lack of reeds. In fact the edge almost appears bulged compared to other coins. Does this mean it is not a collar clash but something else? I can't seem to find any info on effaced coins.

 

That actually means worn away, erased or altered. Could be Post Mint Damage.

 

Nooo, not the dreaded PMD. How do I go about getting the correct photo? The "clash" evidence is only on the obverse side.

 

Absence of reeding in a coin that shows no expansion is a sure sign of post-strike damage.
