Three pieces from my collection that I gave away this holiday season

This year, a few people on my "nice" list are getting pieces that came out of my personal collection. I've been downsizing a little, and added a lot of nice pieces to my collection this year, so even my "leftovers" have correspondingly increased in quality.

Judaea: ca. 67-68 AD bronze prutah, Year 2 of the Jewish War
My CoinTalk Secret Santa recipient is into ancients, so I thought he might like this. I look forward to seeing him post about it. Christmas isn't here yet, and most folks haven't opened their Secret Santa gifts, so I won't say who I sent it to just yet. This was my first purchase at the 2023 FUN show in January. I sent it off to NGC so that I could include it in my collection, but when I decided to downsize to just 100 coins, it became an extra.

Channel Islands (Guernsey): 1889-H copper 2-doubles, Heaton mint, Birmingham
This is the sole, top-pop example (population 1, none higher) at PCGS. Like all the coins I'm showing here, it was a part of my collection, but ended up being an "extra" when I decided to downsize to just 100 pieces. I just mailed it to a longtime CoinTalk friend who's always been generous with me- not only materially, but also with his knowledge and time.

United States: 1856-O silver Seated Liberty half dime
Ex-David Lawrence Rare Coins. A nice "CircCam" example. I've always liked the Seated coins with the mintmark inside the bow. This went to a very close forum friend who's also been extremely generous to me over the years. He's big into Seated Liberty stuff.

That Guernsey piece is nice. I love those little Heaton mint coins.

Rob, When I think you've hit the apex of philanthropy and benevolence, you just casually raise the bar to heights I can only dream of.

I'm virtually 100% sure I know who the seated 1/2 dime is headed to. He's one of my favorite people here too. You both make an extraordinary duo.

The other two lucky recipients will undoubtedly be as ecstatic as the one just mentioned.

I think you're probably right. And I don't think he's seen this thread yet, let alone guessed what's coming, so maybe it will be a surprise when it arrives. ;)

I'm not into moderns, but the Guernsey is my favorite of the lot; pretty cool!

It is very nice. (Finest known in a PCGS slab, in fact.) I wish I had an 8-doubles piece that looked like that!

Got back to my office to find a surprise that has humbled me to the core. Rob, you are the most generous fellow I know and I am proud to call you a friend. Thank you very, very much.

Randy, that is one absolutely beautiful Seated Lady. I know for a fact it went to a well deserving, appreciative, and humble home. Congrats on another great addition to your Sitting Ladies. ;)

Rob, what more can I say? You continually outdo yourself. Kudos to you, my friend.

That is another beautiful looking piece! Unfortunately, for me, I don't know anything about the Guernesey 2 DBL. But I do know Top Pop ;) Congrats on adding that to your collection. I'm very sure it'll conjure up a special meaning every time you look at it.

Rob, this is getting seriously old. Deja vu, all over again.....You know the drill ;) Kudos, brother.
