One funny story about detecting those sand boxes:

I knew someone who was detecting them and some woman went to him yelling that he was "stealing the kids lunch money."
I wish that I had been there I would have told her to bug off. (but not those words.)

Are you saying you don't store your valuables buried in a sandbox??

Don't need a metal detector for that. Just check everyones sofas when you visit them! ;)

i do make a living off finding change in the sandbox!:D my neice had a easter egg hunt in the park last easter, and i brought my detector. i ended up with about $1.50 in change, all kinds of buttons, and other stuff. i like sand because you really don't have to dig, just scoop the sand and put it through the sifter. its just easier. thats funny that that woman said he was stealing the kids lunch money!

I used to see some people detecting the ground after the carnivals leave.

we have a county fair every july, and i usually sneak over to the carnival rides after they have shut down and the carnies went to bed with my friends. we usually find a couple bucks worth of change, just on the surface! alot of people loose their change on those rides. i got caught once by a kid about my age one time. he tried to catch up, but i ran. finders keepers!:kewl:
