@Jersey magic man posted his receipt in another thread. Thanks for the update.

Sorry the chocolate bar didn't travel so well. Hope that's not an issue with the ones I sent to everyone else, but it might be. I stored them in the freezer prior to shipping them.

So now we come to Round 9, meaning there will be nine coins in the lot.

    (9) Assorted silver War nickels.

Loose circulated: One dateless (worn slick), one 1942-P, one 1943-P, one 1944-P, two 1945-P, one 1945-D, one 1945-S.

In a flip: one Choice AU+ 1943-P with minor laminations.

In other words, one is junk, one is nice, and the rest are average.

To enter this round, all you need to do is:

    1. Say that you want this lot, and
    2. post something else coin-related or cheerful.

Then, sometime in the next 2-4 days (depending on my schedule), we'll do the drawing and move on to the next round.

You may of course say you want it for someone else, if you name that person.

    Round summary in Post #1.

Always exciting to get war nickels.
The '43 P is a great example of a Silver Nickel!

    This coin is from Kiribati.

Rob, my eyes aren't that good but is that lamination on the reverse by the left side middle window of montecello?

I’d have to put the coin under a loupe to tell you, and I don’t have it with me right now. It was originally in a cardboard Mylar holder that someone had labeled “BU / laminations”. I did briefly put it under a loupe at home- enough to tell that it’s a just a slider AU rather than full BU. I didn’t see any major laminations, but as I recall, there were some very slight ones on the reverse. Which of course is not uncommon on War nickels.

IF I remember later, I’ll take some closer pics.

In any event, I did not find the laminations on the coin (if any) to be all that noteworthy. It’s just a nice AU that looks UNC at a glance.

I'm in on this one, Rob. If the random number genie lands on this post, please redirect the winning to our good friend @Cheech9712 . I know she's always on the lookout for dateless buffalo's. I know this isn't a buff, but maybe she'd like to work her magic on a dateless silver war nickel.

    Merry and Happy to all......

Oh, I agree, it's a smart coin. No bother, it just looked to me that the lamination was by the window on the left side.

I would like in! I collect silver war nickels a little bit, and any duplicates make good Christmas gifts for my brothers....
    Thanks @lordmarcovan!

    I would like those.

I was so prepared for gifts this Christmas that I thought it would go off without a hitch. Somehow, my execution was a lot off and I'm once again hoping I can make it happen before next weekend. When I was little December seemed to last forever....

Yep. There appears to be a small lamination under the second window from the left on Monticello. That's all I notice. It's not much to speak of, but it's there. I note also that the coin has nice squared-off rims, almost like a proof would have, though I doubt it is an impaired proof. It is lustrous but not mirrored.

(I attempted to take better pics of it, but failed miserably.)

I would like to cast in my hat for lot nine.
For a jolly post..... My three-year-old son asked me if we were going fast this morning on the way to church. I told him we were going fast enough. My two-year-old daughter then tells me, "Daddy, the sign said we couldn't go any faster."

Once again, I am in. I need some war nickels to fill in some holes in my circulated nickel albums.
